"The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform the postures but in how is positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships."
- T. K. V. Desikachar
Ever since I began to broaden my yoga education, Desikachar's written words have resonated the most in my life. The above quote reminds us that yoga is much, much more than just poses...
So frequently when practicing yoga, there is a transformation. Like many, I started with the urge to move, develop strength and increase my flexibility. After several weeks of classes, I realized that the physical practice of the yoga poses was a vehicle to transport me into a realm where I could learn to value and respect myself in the deepest sense.
The poses of yoga etched braille onto my body, a language my heart and soul could interpret. A dialect of truth, modesty and courage.
How have you experienced transformation in your life?
Hello, I'm Julie.
One of the many things yoga taught me was empowerment...and I hope to share that with you here.
