I chose Jade because of their attention and devotion to nature and doing their part to promote a clean and renewable environment. Their motto is simply, "Nature's best yoga mat." JadeYoga is one of the most eco-friendly yoga mat producers on the market. They are also known for creating the first green yoga mat. The company practices sustainability (the owner used to be a lawyer for the E.P.A, enforcing environmental laws). Even better, the company plants a tree (through Trees of the Future) for each mat purchased. Giving back to the environment is clearly an important part of their business model. Customer service was stellar as well. Throughout my communication with them, the service went well-above and beyond. The mats are made (in the U.S) with natural open-cell rubber, tapped from rubber trees. No added or harmful materials are used like synthetic rubbers or PVC. The natural rubber in Jade's mats actually perform much better than synthetic rubbers, while offering some of the highest quality durability, non-slip and cushioning. It's a win-win-win! Does it get any better? Yes! Jade works hard to bring yoga to those without the opportunity. They offer support for abused girls shelters in West Africa, a homeless shelter in Indonesia, and support education programs for children in locations between New York and California. Here is a list of causes JadeYoga helps support. I have the Harmony Professional Mat, and so far I am absolutely loving it. You can tell it's made well and made to last. I feel great using it, knowing it came from the natural earth and from a company that cares enough about the environment to give back.

I bring usable items to good will. I recycly everything possible in my town. I recycle wool sweaters to recreate wool mittens with fleece linings.

I love the idea of glass straws, perhaps I should find a use for them in my world of juicing. Thanks for the link, I'll check them out!

My husband and I are dedicated recyclers, always use reusable bags for shopping, and are trying our hand at composting for our flower beds and garden!

I am all about recycling and do so with any and all possible items in my household. I work hard to reduce the waste I produce on a daily basis, and buy eco-friendly products whenever possible. My yoga bag is even constructed of recycled yoga mat and recycled fabric! :)

I recycle the normal things but in my city we do Styrofoam recycling so I'm always mindful about making sure I save those things for the drop-off. I use reusable food storage containers instead of plastic bags. And any plastic bags I might find in my possession, they are also dropped off for recycling.

That's great Holly. There a few things my town doesn't recycle also (glass, believe it or not!), but recycling as much as possible is key! Thanks for commenting!
