Benefits of Private Yoga Lessons

* Any yoga practice can be made accessible with props and a little bit of creativity *

You're a "Newbie"

Stepping into a yoga class for the first time can be overwhelming and sometimes difficult to follow the teacher's instructions through breathing and poses. Personalized instruction is so helpful for beginners because you learn the foundation of each pose and how to make adjustments as needed. After all, no body is alike, we are all different shapes and sizes. Learn how to fit the pose to your body AND create a solid, safe and fun foundation for a yoga practice.

Individual Attention
Sometimes getting additional explanations on poses and breathing can be just the key to learning and growing in our practice. In a yoga classroom setting, we just don't get the individualized attention that is so required to have those "I get it!" moments or epiphanies.

Yoga for Your Body, at Your Own Pace.
We all have body-stuff going on, and sometimes group classes just don't address specific issues. Maybe you have an injury, or injuries? Are you wanting to increase flexibility, strength, joint protection? Are you a desk-dweller looking to counter that rounded-back, tight shoulder and chest feeling? Perhaps your an athlete hoping to balance out your training, or increase the capacity of the mind-breath experience? Or...you know what, maybe you're just someone that is hesitant about going to yoga classes for some reason. Are group classes too fast? Move at your own pace. Learn poses that meet your needs and goals.

Relax and De-Stress
Classroom settings can be overwhelming and very distracting sometimes. It can be challenging to really relax and become rejuvenated. Are you dealing with stress or depression? Do you dedicated time to unwind and just breathe? How about some me-time? We are all busy, and most of us work really hard every day. You deserve to slow down.

Increasing Body Awareness
One of the most amazing benefits of yoga is being able to increase your awareness. In today's busy lifestyle, it's easy to forget to listen to our bodies. We work when we're sick, we push hard, we keep moving even though our bodies and minds are telling us to stop. Practicing yoga forces us to slow down, to pay attention and to do everything with a purpose, an intention. This practice can ultimately increase our body/mind awareness, and the more we practice the more we become aware of it during the busy days. Body awareness is self-love, self-preservation, health, wellness and can create a stress-free lifestyle. Learn to listen.

Restore Strength, Balance & Flexibility
Sometimes our daily lives can be debilitating. We lose a lot of our strength sitting down too frequently and living a stagnant or inactive life. Unfortunately, that is the culprit for many of us, often causing shoulder and neck tension, weak core and stabilizing muscles, and ultimately less balance. Physical balance can translate to mental balance...and so often our lives can feel unsteady. Even a slow yoga practice will restore strength and flexibility back to the body. Talk about a confidence booster, and a great way to resurrect power and intention in your life and your relationships.

Deepen Your Yoga Practice
For those who have already been practicing yoga, we know that sometimes we can fall into a rut. Are you doing the same routine over and over again? Are you going to the same classes? The only way to grow and expand is to experience change and to go deeper. Learn ways to indulge further in your poses, maybe incorporate pranayama breathing into your routine?

Breathing Practices
The breath is so completely under-rated. Our breath is a powerful tool because not only is it involuntary, but we have the ability to control our breath and breathe intently. Breath can create space and healing in the body, and the mind! This is a practice that is very personal and individual to each person. It's great for everyone really, but especially helpful for prenatal, postnatal and even...public speakers and swimmers (increasing diaphragm strength)!
