There's been a lot of really horrible shit going on in the world lately. It's scary, frustrating and extremely saddening. I feel helpless most of the time, as I continue to live my life as I please without much restriction. I'm grateful to have that opportunity, but at the same time I find it terrifying to be surrounded by a fearful, close-minded and disrespectful world.
Does my life mean anything in the big picture? Does my energy, my gratitude or my search for peace and love transcend outward to the world around me?
Does seeking my truth (Satya) help to heal the world?
Ask yourself: What brings you deep solitude and power?
Is it sitting by the fire on a cool, summer night? Writing down thoughts and aspirations in your journal? Perhaps just a good sweat at the gym or shooting a few rounds at the range?
That which ignite your fire will bring you to a place of great joy and personal power. Once you have found that resource, anything is possible.
When we take the time to tap into what truly brings peace, we often find that our mind and spirit awakens and "smiles" with happiness. Thoughts, ideas and creativity flows easier across what may even be a narrow or unknown path. Even our bodies feel better and function more efficiently from the inside out. This is how we bring joy, greatness and love into the world...even if it's only just in our small personal realm.
If we can learn to kindle these deep moments more frequently in our daily lives, imagine how the scales will re-balance themselves. Love starts to forgive hate, peace begins to conquer violence and work becomes more like play. In an increasingly busy world, we must find a time, perhaps only a few moments to do this. It must become a priority.
Find the source of power and peace within. Do what brings deep joy and personal solitude each day. Read a page in your favorite book, sit in a quiet space for a few minutes, numb out to your latest favorite song.
What truly makes all the difference, doesn't take much.
What brings you solitude and power? How do you harness it?
