Yoga has taught me something that I'm not quite sure I would have learned anywhere else. When your mind expands, your physical willingness follows.
Yoga is not just the practice of holding headstands and tricky arm balances, it's the realization that there is always space. There is always room for more. Is there somewhere you want to go? Go there, that place exists. You create it. Every step we take, we are marking a pathway, making progress, building something piece by piece. With mindful control, positive motivation and self-acceptance, we not only open doors but we knock down walls.
Frankly, sometimes I'm as blind as a bat. It's probably my self-doubt that prevents me from seeing past the wall I just literally shattered.
Don't forget to turn around every once in a while and look back. It's often preached that we should never look back but rather just keep moving forward. But we lose perspective that way. Look back to see how far you've come. You may be surprised to see a whole new landscape on the path ahead when you turn back around. Expansion of the mind sometimes comes from trusting the deepest, darkest pages in your book. Pull from behind and press forward with everything you've become.
