Enter stage left. Meet Gallatin.
As a relatively new dog-owner, I will start off by telling you that my dog is not your ordinary yellow lab. Did you nod your head or smile just then? The past two years in the "dog-world" has made me very aware that I am part of a much larger group of people who have wacky, wild, loveable and wonky canine friends! Gallatin is a two-year-old, cute, cuddly, "bull in a china shop".
I would say getting through a yoga routine with your dog in the same room could be the ultimate test of patience. If your dog is chill, then maybe it's not such a struggle. But if your dog is anything like mine, you are being crawled on, over, under, licked in the face and wacked with a tail. Ninety-five pounds of love can certainly be hazardous in the yoga room.
Yoga is about self-adjustment, inner peace and happiness. Incorporating your pets into your practice can be a win-win situation as long as we have no expectations and a good attitude. You don't have to always practice with your dog, but when you do, offer some adjustments so he/she can be included.

Breakfast is often the most difficult meal of the day for me. I'm a morning person but it's really hard to find the time to cook an early meal before the start of my 7am work day. I usually grab a bar or oatmeal packet and run out the door. Rarely do I make something as lovely as eggs and greens. My weekly green juice does come in handy though as I'm headed out the door.
Eating a good breakfast is so important, and many of us skip it, or don't give it much attention. Eating protein and vegetables in the morning can be even more effective than coffee! The proof is in the green juice I try to swig each morning. It offers a great boost.
Pay attention to the way you nourish yourself early in the day. Give it a little more thought and a little more planning the night before. It could make all the difference for the day ahead.
